Welcome to the Gibson Doxey Chronicles where no pioneer story is too long or three Nephite story too tall! However, politics are not welcomed here as we want this blog to have as much love and unity as a Hinkley family reunion. Let's make sure everyone who visits feels as comfortable as Dave sneaking an after-dinner pick on Grammy's couch. So sit back and enjoy all the family news.

Garrett's Eagle Project!

Garrett did his eagle project last week! With a lot of help from scouts and their dads, they poured a concrete picnic pad in the Theater in the Pines Campground (you know --just above Aspen Grove!!!!) It was way cool!! We'll all have to go check it out this summer and have a grand picnic. It was a 16x22' pad with a fire pit and grill. Garrett met with Geneva Rock who donated all the mud ($1300) and met with the Forest Service 5 or 6 times to get all the details right! Then he organized a Wed night activity with 10 scouts and 5 dads who drove up and moved a lot of bushes, rocks and dirt! Then for the Father and Son's Outing on Friday and Saturday they set up the forms and wheelbarrowed 6 1/2 yards of mud to the site. It was awesome. It was a real success with everyone working very hard! What could be better than dad's showing their boys how to play in mud!! Now with a couple of merit badges AND the dreaded final write up the family will have a 13 year old EAGLE! Way to go Gar!
