Welcome to the Gibson Doxey Chronicles where no pioneer story is too long or three Nephite story too tall! However, politics are not welcomed here as we want this blog to have as much love and unity as a Hinkley family reunion. Let's make sure everyone who visits feels as comfortable as Dave sneaking an after-dinner pick on Grammy's couch. So sit back and enjoy all the family news.

Christensen's Trip to Moab!!!

Hello everyone! We love checking out the blogs -- Matt, congrats on the Eagle! What an accomplishment! And way to go Heidi -- I wish we could have seen you in Joseph! And Leah Dancing was an instant hit at our house. How cute!
Here's a few pictures of our spring break to Moab. On our way down we stopped off at the Manti Temple and did baptisms for the dead. (The first 12 Doxey names baptized! It was cool! Hope everyone's working on their blue cards. We have a lot of sealings for us all to do in July) We had a blast in Moab. The only bummer was that Bry had just had the warts on his feet worked on so he couldn't ride. (One can only imagine how Bry felt!) But he had a good time staying with Brynne and the rest of us rode Slick Rock (Garrett out biked us all!) We went rock climbing (Bry and Gar just got harnesses and ropes for their birthdays). We got permits and hiked the Firery Furnace in Arches which was really spectacular. We went with a the Hafen's in our ward. Wish you all could have been there! We're looking forward to seeing you this summer. -- Love always, the Christensen's

Heidi is front in center in this poor quality picture, but you sort of get a feel for it... She did a great job! It was so fun to watch her!!!

Matt gets his eagle, and runs his last track meet of the season!

The Famous Bunk Bed

Spencer loves to show off his new bed...and by the look on his face you'd think he had built it himself. He's proud!! We love the fact that he is happy in his bed and that he actually sleeps in it!!
I hope that you all appreciate the craftsmanship that went into building this fine piece of furniture. It was built out of "knotty alder" (forgive the spelling) to match the blanket chest that Rich had already built. It sure is awesome to have a husband who has such talent and is able to create things for our home. We are currently looking at design ideas for our bedroom furniture. If you have any ideas - pass them on!!

Sammy is happy in his bed, however, he has turned out to be quite the monkey. I can see him climbing out of the crib when he gets a little older (something that Spencer still doesn't attempt to do).

Rock City on Mt. Diablo

So as "the men" are working, I guess the family is playing. This time it is Rock City (like a mini slick rock at Moab) on Mt. Diablo and Half Moon Bay for Sprink Break.

John got a little scraped up.

Must be fun.

EASTER IN SAN RAMON, CALIF.

Just thought you'd like to see some pics.

Our yard is in a blossoming frenzy ... let's just say the previous owner knew what she was doing.

There's serious pressure to keep all of this alive and looking great -- if anyone has any tips we're all ears.

Emily's Graduation FINALLY!

It's official. I'm actually graduating.... (I know what your all thinking) It's about time!
If anyone is interested in attending a very boring commencement and/or convocation these are the times. They are both at the McKay Events Center at UVSC (you can park on the west side near the ball fields).

The commencement is at 10:30 am
the convocation at 12:30 pm.

I'm not exactly sure if I am going to the commencement but I will for sure be walking in the convocation. I am thinking after the graduation of either going to dinner at the Bombay House or having some type of BBQ.

Call me or e-mail me with questions. 801-787-3829

Notice

We in the Douglas and Amber Doxey family are alive and kickin'. I'm done with my first year of school this May 14th and I'm just tickled to a pinkish hue, which is deemed pleasing to all involved. Amber and I have shortly returned from a rejuvenating retreat to Gilbert, Arizona where we embraced the warm weather and questioned our return to the great northeast. Upon our return Amber has become ill. The culprit: the infamous (it's not only famous it's infamous) Pleuradynia virus which rendered her as a patient in the Emergency Department this past Saturday. Presently she continues the pains and travails of the virus thus leaving me to instruct the primary children in the ways of song and rejoicing for their upcoming Mother's day program.

Okay, I'll be normal. All the above is true. We're alright and Amber should start feeling better in a couple of days. My Spring break ends tomorrow and I'm bummed. Although, as I said above the end is in sight and I'm stoked! Hope all is well with everyone.

P.S. Em you're amazing! Amber and I wish we could be there for you're show. I know it be spectacular. Good luck!
P.P.S. We miss the desert

BFA Exhibition

Hello Everyone!
I sent out snail mail to announce my final BFA show
If for some reason you didn't get the announcement please let me know.

For all you in-state families the show is an open house, THIS FRIDAY the 6th, from 6-8 pm.
There will be music and food, in case anyone is wondering, the museum is located in
University mall on the south side, sandwiched between Nordstrom's and Gap
It has its own entrance...you just go in and walk up the stairs.

I've been working really hard on this show and its my last big show before graduation, I would love to see everyone there, however, the show is up for a month if you cant make it on friday.

(also a side note, some of the paintings of the exhibition (not mine of course) have some nudity, it is artful and tasteful, but if you're worried then you may want to leave the kids at home) :)

I love you all and hope to see you there!
